Three members of an inter-state gang involved in theft activities were apprehended by the police after a tense encounter on Friday. The altercation unfolded near a medical college campus, as law enforcement efforts led to the arrest of the suspects, who engaged in gunfire.
According to Superintendent of Police Vinay Kumar Singh, the suspects were planning a theft when they were discovered by a joint team of Kotwali Orai police and surveillance officers. The suspects reacted with gunfire, prompting a police response. All three were injured and later captured.
In a separate incident in Shahjahanpur, police engaged with fleeing suspects during a vehicle check, resulting in injuries and arrests. Investigations reveal the suspects' involvement in multiple theft cases across states including Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
