With a predicted turnout of 600,000 participants, the Mass in Douala marked the largest gathering of his 11-day odyssey, the first such African tour by an American pope. Later, in Youande, he addressed students and faculty at the Catholic University of Central Africa, urging the youth to rise above poverty and corruption.
