Senior Congress leader M K Raghavan has alleged that internal disagreements within the Congress party, rather than directives from the high command, led to the exclusion of MPs from contesting in the recent Kerala Assembly elections.

Raghavan, speaking to reporters in Delhi, blamed the "stubbornness" of some party leaders for this decision. He refuted Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sunny Joseph's claim that the high command decided against MPs contesting.

The issue intensified after comments by Ernakulam District Congress Committee president Mohammed Shiyas, sparking widespread controversy on social media. Senior leader Ramesh Chennithala, meanwhile, dismissed the controversy, focusing on upcoming elections in Maharashtra.
