Delhi's Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, has taken a significant step towards a sustainable future, launching 200 new electric buses from the East Vinod Nagar Depot. Aiming for a comprehensive transition of Delhi's public transport to electric vehicles, her government is focusing on mission mode operations.

In a bold statement at the event, Gupta revealed that now 4,550 out of Delhi's 6,300 public transport buses are electric. She further expanded the city's network by inaugurating the Delhi-Rohtak intercity bus service and the Madanpur Khadar bus terminal, while also opening a new facility at the East Vinod Nagar Depot.

Emphasizing the broader goal, Gupta stated that these electric buses are part of achieving not only a developed but also a less polluted Delhi. She criticized past administrations for their lack of effective pollution solutions, showcasing her government's commitment to enhancing public infrastructure and environmental policies.
