The Delhi High Court is poised to deliver a verdict on a petition submitted by Telugu actor Allu Arjun, requesting protection of his personality rights encompassing his name, image, voice, and likeness. The plea, heard by Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, faced immediate scrutiny over the court's jurisdiction as Arjun is associated with Telangana.

The legal representation for Arjun countered by indicating that the misuse of his identity is a nationwide issue, thereby invoking the court's jurisdiction. Senior Advocate Swathi Sukumar argued the growing necessity for such requests given technological misuse, highlighting a troubling development where a defendant created an app facilitating interaction with an AI-generated version of the actor.

As numerous high-profile personalities approach the Delhi High Court for similar protections in the digital age, concerns revolve around unauthorized commercial exploitation. Past courts have extended such protections to various celebrities, showing the legal complexities arising from digital and AI technology-driven identity misuse.
