In a significant breakthrough, Haryana police have cracked down on a suspected vehicle theft network following the arrest of an alleged motorcycle thief in Nuh. Identified as Osama alias Bilal from Roopdaka village, the suspect was apprehended by the anti-vehicle theft unit on Thursday. His arrest has led to the recovery of five stolen motorcycles linked to cases in Haryana and Delhi.
Police discovered the stolen bikes after identifying and verifying a motorcycle's engine and chassis numbers impounded from the accused. This pivotal lead directed police to various locations associated with Bilal, resulting in the retrieval of the stolen vehicles. The bikes were reportedly linked to multiple cases registered across Haryana and Delhi.
The accused reportedly admitted to demanding ransom for the release of stolen motorcycles, prompting police to seek additional individuals involved in this illegal network. Authorities are working to determine how many stolen bikes were released after such demands. The investigation continues, with the accused undergoing further interrogation on a one-day police remand following his court appearance.
