The Haryana government unveiled a significant relief measure on Thursday, offering Class-IV employees an interest-free advance of Rs 27,000 to purchase wheat in the financial year 2026-27. Announced by the Chief Secretary's office, this benefit is extended to both permanent and temporary regular Class-IV state employees, facilitating wheat procurement for personal or family needs.

Eligible workers need to apply by May 7, 2026, through the Accounts and Pension Branch between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The application form, available for download on the Chief Secretariat's website, www.csharyana.gov.in, cannot be submitted post-deadline. This initiative aims to support lower-grade employees in addressing their basic food needs.

The announcement follows Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's recent initiatives, including raising the minimum wage for unskilled workers and introducing a 33% reservation for women in ration depots under the public distribution system. These measures are part of broader efforts to enhance economic inclusivity, especially for women, through various government schemes.
