In a swift verdict, a Godhra court sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the abduction and rape of a 10-year-old girl, as well as the assault of her grandmother.
The POCSO Act court, presided over by Judge Rakesh Patel, delivered the ruling just five months after filing the charge sheet.
The court also imposed a fine on the accused and ordered compensation for the victim, acknowledging the grave impact of the crime.
