In a significant operation against illegal activities, the Outer North district police successfully disrupted an interstate liquor smuggling network. Three men have been arrested, and a large quantity of illicit liquor has been seized over the course of last week's targeted operations, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The police raids resulted in the recovery of over 674 cartons of illicit liquor and the confiscation of four vehicles used for transportation. The accused have been identified as Kishan, 32, Rajesh, 28, and Hemant, 25. Authorities are still in search of one more suspect known to be involved in the network.
Among the key incidents, a notable seizure was made on April 17 when a goods vehicle, carrying 115 cartons of illegal liquor, was intercepted. Additional operations led to the recovery of more consignments, with the largest haul from multiple raids across Libaspur, Alipur, and Swaroop Nagar. Senior officers reported that the consignments originated from Haryana and were intended for city distribution. Further investigations are in progress.
