In a bold election promise, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami declared that his party would create a drug-free Tamil Nadu if it wins the upcoming Assembly elections. Speaking at a campaign rally in Sangagiri, he emphasized the need to eradicate the sale of ganja and curb rising crime rates.
Palaniswami criticized the current DMK administration, accusing it of allowing lawlessness and failing to protect citizens, especially women and children. He highlighted a surge in violence and crime, attributing it to rampant drug abuse, and pointed out the murder of six police personnel in recent months.
The AIADMK chief also accused the DMK of being a family-centered corporate entity that neglects genuine political responsibilities. He promised to revive 'Amma Mini Clinics' and criticized the opposition's handling of the NEET exam exemption issue, asserting that his party offers a true alternative for governance in Tamil Nadu.
