Bihar's Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary kicked off the self-enumeration phase of Census 2027 on Friday, a digital-first initiative aiming for comprehensive data collection. The event, held at the CM's Secretariat, saw an appeal for active public participation, with Choudhary underscoring its importance for an accurate and inclusive process.

From April 17 to May 1, residents can engage in the initial self-enumeration phase, with a subsequent house listing and housing census from May 2 to 31. This digital approach, a first for the region, is hailed as foundational for Bihar's progress and development, according to a CMO statement.

Highlighting the emphasis on women's participation and safety, Choudhary also inaugurated a 'fun run' program. This event echoes the ongoing efforts for women's representation, aligning with nationwide objectives for gender equity, including a 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies.
