In a significant political shift, Samrat Choudhary has been sworn in as Bihar's first-ever Chief Minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This development marks a pivotal moment as it concludes Nitish Kumar's prolonged governance with 'Sushasan' (good governance) and inaugurates a new era under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar.

Choudhary takes on this role with substantial backing from his party, reflected in his sweeping portfolio that includes the influential Home Ministry along with 29 other departments. This consolidation of power underscores a transition towards centralized leadership, with Choudhary's firm control over law, order, and state security amidst his comprehensive ministerial responsibilities.

With the oath administered by Governor Lt Gen (Retd.) Syed Ata Hasnain, Choudhary steps into his role succeeding Nitish Kumar, who moves to the Rajya Sabha. The strategic rise of Choudhary is part of the BJP's concerted effort to assume a leading position in Bihar politics, moving beyond its previous role as a junior partner in the coalition.
