The Maharashtra police in Amravati district have arrested eight individuals connected to the distribution of explicit video clips and images involving minor girls on social media platforms, authorities announced. The police have confiscated electronic devices, including a laptop, tablet, and hard disk, from the residence of one of the suspects.

The investigation kicked off after officers discovered the explicit content online on April 11, particularly a video featuring minor girls and a young male from the Paratwada police station jurisdiction. Despite police efforts, the victims have yet to formally report the incidents. However, Amravati (Rural) Superintendent of Police Vishal Anand confirmed an FIR had been filed against Ayan Ahmed Tanveer Ahmed under multiple legal acts.

The accusations have spiraled out, involving several suspects, including Ayan Ahmed's acquaintance Ujer Iqbal Khan and others from Achalpur. Authorities have strengthened the investigative process by assembling a Special Investigation Team, proactively reassuring victims about their privacy and safety should they come forward. The police persistently encourage community collaboration to unravel vital clues in the ongoing case.
