Tamil Nadu’s Cyber Crime Wing has apprehended three suspects linked to the data theft and online distribution of the film 'Jana Nayagan', authorities announced. Among the arrested is a freelance assistant editor suspected of unlawfully accessing and distributing film reels.
The arrests were executed on April 15 after a comprehensive analysis of digital evidence, following the earlier capture of six individuals accused of disseminating pirated content on April 11. The identities of those arrested have been withheld pending further investigations.
The Cyber Crime Wing warns that downloading, streaming, or sharing pirated content may lead to severe legal consequences. Citizens are encouraged to report piracy activities through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or the Cyber Crime Helpline.
