Violence erupted during an Ambedkar Jayanti procession in Chahka Gunar village, resulting in the arrest of 23 individuals, notably including five women, following stone-pelting that injured a policeman. The District Magistrate, Pranay Singh, confirmed FIRs against 38 individuals linked to the chaos.
Police investigations have revealed that members of the Yadav community might have deliberately disrupted the event. Superintendent of Police OP Singh suggested that political motives could be behind this organized interference. Tensions had arisen when some individuals in the procession faced attacks and road blockades involving tractor-trolleys.
Despite the unrest, authorities have ensured peace with substantial police deployment throughout the district, where approximately 50 Ambedkar Jayanti processions were held under security on the same day.
