In Latur, seven cases related to noise pollution have been registered following Ambedkar Jayanti processions, according to a police official on Thursday. The accused include sound system operators, system owners, and organizing committee office-bearers.
Police priorly urged organizers to adhere to noise pollution norms and ensure public order. While the majority complied, a few exceptions led to violations categorized under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Maharashtra Police Act, and Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules.
