A KDMC clerk, Bhushan Baliram Patil, has been suspended following allegations of sexual harassment lodged by a female colleague, officials announced Friday. An FIR has already been filed concerning the allegations, prompting both a police investigation and an internal inquiry by the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation.

The accusations against Patil include obscenity and the solicitation of sexual favors, as detailed in a complaint to the Manpada police station in Dombivali. This incident has caused reputational damage to the municipality, according to KDMC Commissioner Abhinav Goyal, and has seen widely circulated discussions on social media.

Patil, while denying the allegations, claimed they were motivated by revenge. He has previously faced suspension over a corruption racket but was reinstated. Meanwhile, the affected female employee has been transferred for her safety. During his suspension, Patil will remain at the municipal headquarters.
