Renowned Romanian football figure, Mircea Lucescu, reportedly experienced a heart attack Friday morning while under hospital care. The 80-year-old, who resigned from coaching duties with Romania's national team on Thursday, is presently stable.
Lucescu was admitted to Bucharest's University Emergency Hospital Sunday after experiencing a heart issue post-training, soon after Romania's World Cup playoff defeat to Turkey.
The hospital confirmed the condition without naming Lucescu explicitly, citing legal protocols. Despite his critical health scare, Lucescu remains in the cardiology wing, receiving essential medical attention and specialist monitoring.
