Magisterial Probe Mandated in Ganderbal Encounter Controversy

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has initiated a magisterial probe into a disputed encounter in Ganderbal district which resulted in the death of an alleged terrorist. The move comes after political figures, including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, questioned the encounter's legitimacy.

In a social media post, Sinha assured a comprehensive investigation into the Arhama, Ganderbal incident to guarantee justice. He emphasized the need for transparency in the inquiry process, which will scrutinize all elements associated with the altercation.

The family of the deceased, Rashid Ahmad Mughal, maintains that he was not involved in terrorist activities. Abdullah has called for a transparent probe to uphold public confidence, warning that any delay or lack of clarity could harm credibility.
