Avalanche Alert in Ganderbal: Residents Urged to Exercise Caution

Aavalanche warnings have been issued for the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, with authorities urging residents to exercise extreme caution. The medium-intensity avalanche is anticipated to affect areas above 2,400 meters elevation within the next day.

To ensure public safety, the district administration has issued an advisory prohibiting individuals from entering avalanche-prone zones, including slopes, hilly terrains, and higher altitudes. They are asking residents, tourists, and nomadic groups to adhere to these advisories meticulously.

This warning follows deadly avalanches on March 27, which claimed the lives of seven people, including two women and a child, and injured five others along the Srinagar-Leh highway. Cooperation with these measures is critical to prevent further tragedies.
