The Delhi Motor Accident Claims Tribunal has ruled in favor of Bharat Ghai, awarding him a compensation of Rs 1.52 crore after a 2022 accident left Ghai with 100% permanent disability.
The tribunal, led by Presiding Officer Sudeep Raj Saini, confirmed that the accident was the result of negligent driving. The vehicle in question was both driven and owned by the respondent, which caused severe injuries to Ghai. Despite defense arguments, the tribunal relied on evidence including FIR, medical records, and eyewitness accounts.
Ghai’s condition demands lifelong care. The compensation covers future income loss, medical expenses, and long-term care. Ordered by the tribunal, the insurance company is tasked with paying this amount to the victim.
