In a recent development, Jawaharlal Nehru University has written to the Vasant Kunj (North) police about the activities of 14 students currently out on bail. The university asserts that these students have been violating the conditions of their bail by taking part in protests.
The situation at JNU has been tense since February, following the suspension of several student leaders over accusations of property damage. Despite the bail conditions stipulating non-engagement in protests, university officials claim the students persist in defying these terms.
The letter cites an International Working Women's Day march as a breach of bail, prompting criticism from JNUSU, highlighting the controversy surrounding the university's management and its handling of student activism.
