In a recent meeting in Lucknow, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahli expressed disagreement with calls to boycott Eid celebrations in protest against the US attack on Iran. He emphasized that Eid is a sacred observance and should remain separate from political events.
Addressing the attendants at Eidgah, Farangi Mahli reiterated that Eid should be celebrated as a divine gift for those who fast during Ramzan. He highlighted that significant events in Islamic history, such as the Battle of Badr, did not hinder the observance of Eid.
Despite appeals from some sectors in Prayagraj and Bhopal to cancel celebrations or wear black armbands, Farangi Mahli remains firm in his belief that Eid's religious significance must be preserved. The sighting of the Eid moon is expected on March 19, determining the festival's date.
