Russia's Defence Ministry has declared a significant military achievement, with its troops seizing control of the village of Tsvitkove in southeastern Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region. This development was reported by state news agency TASS on Sunday.
The latest advance marks a strategic move in the region, where Russia now controls about 75% of the territory. The Zaporizhzhia region has seen relatively little change since 2022, until these recent movements by Russian forces.
The region's battle lines remained largely static, but these new advances could shift the dynamics of control and conflict in Southeastern Ukraine.
