Madison Sheahan, the Deputy Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, announced her resignation in a social media post on Thursday.
Sheahan, aged 28, became part of ICE early last year and quickly became a significant ally to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
According to a CBS News report citing unnamed officials, Sheahan is considering a run for U.S. Congress.
