In a grim discovery, the decomposed body of a young man, believed to have been murdered, was found in a hotel room in central Kolkata on Friday, according to the police.
The corpse was discovered in a loft bed wardrobe of a hotel located on Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road near Park Street after new guests complained of an unpleasant odor. Hotel authorities reported that two guests had stayed in the room four days prior, and their identification documents have been handed over to law enforcement.
Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and interrogating hotel staff to track down previous occupants and gather clues about the unidentified youth's identity. The hotel, popular among foreign tourists, is located in a bustling area, raising concerns about safety and security.
