Andhra Pradesh CM Launches Ambitious Health Infrastructure Initiative
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed the immediate commencement of medical college construction under a PPP model. He highlighted the Health Investment Policy 2026–31, reviewed ongoing healthcare projects, and stressed preventive healthcare, population management, and promoting traditional medicine in the state.

In a significant move to bolster healthcare, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged officials to kick-start the construction of medical colleges under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model within a month. Phase 1 will see four medical colleges rise in select districts, followed by six more in Phase 2.
The Chief Minister also underscored the importance of the State Health Investment Policy 2026–31, encapsulating a broad spectrum of objectives like establishing medical colleges, multispecialty hospitals, and fostering wellness tourism. A proposal for a naturopathy institute in Amaravati under the AYUSH Ministry will also be pursued.
Alongside infrastructure improvements, Naidu pushed for heightened health awareness, preventive measures against diseases, and population management. He noted the fertility rate decline and called for a refocus on balanced demographic growth through integrated public health and nutrition strategies.
