In a major move, Andhra Pradesh is channeling significant funds, approximately Rs 500 crore, into East Godavari district as preparations ramp up for the Godavari Pushkaralu pilgrimage, akin to the Kumbh Mela.
Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar confirmed the initiation of projects amounting to Rs 485 crore, particularly prioritizing the completion of electrical infrastructure worth Rs 96.9 crore ahead of the pilgrimage.
The state government is committed to ensuring an uninterrupted power supply during the event, with similar efforts visible in the stable electricity tariffs maintained over the past two years, despite tough economic conditions. Renewable energy projects such as the PM Surya Ghar scheme are also being launched as a part of broader sustainability efforts.
