Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is set to lay the foundation stone for a monumental solar manufacturing facility on April 23. The Rs 5,400 crore project by ReNew Energy Global plc in Anakapalli district signifies a crucial development in India's renewable energy landscape.

Aiming for 500 gigawatts of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, India ventures into this significant phase to reduce its reliance on imports and boost clean energy manufacturing domestically. The state’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024 anticipates large-scale investments, drawing in Rs 82,000 crore commitment from ReNew, indicative of increasing investor confidence.

This facility is a 6 gigawatt solar ingot and wafer unit, anticipated to generate over 2,100 jobs upon launching within 24 months. Spearheaded by figures like Sumant Sinha, the project outlines Andhra Pradesh as a hub for clean energy, underpinning India's Atmanirbhar Bharat vision for a sustainable and energy-secure future.
