95% Local Quota in Andhra Pradesh Recruitment: A Game Changer

The Andhra Pradesh government has implemented a groundbreaking policy by reserving 95% of local cadre positions for direct recruitment to local candidates, as per a recent government order (GO). This significant decision is applicable to roles equivalent to or below the rank of junior assistant.
The new reservation policy is specifically focused on enriching local employment, but it comes with notable exceptions. Posts within the state secretariat, offices of department heads, special offices, establishments at the state level, and police commissionerates in the capital area remain unaffected by this order.
While this regulation seeks to provide more opportunities to locals, the reservation only applies to roles whose remuneration does not surpass that of a junior assistant, reinforcing its targeted approach to socio-economic development in Andhra Pradesh.
