Defence Minister Rajnath Singh engaged in talks with Germany's Defence Minister Boris Pistorius in Berlin on Wednesday to fortify the strategic partnership between the two nations. A key outcome of the meeting was the signing of a defence industrial cooperation roadmap, directed at enhancing co-development and production of defence technology.
Singh highlighted the importance of condemning terrorism unequivocally, a sentiment expressed on the anniversary of the Pahalgam attack. He underscored the stabilizing role that India and Germany play in global economic stability amid current international uncertainties. The two leaders reiterated their commitment to expand military cooperation, which has seen significant growth, notably since Pistorius assumed office.
Highlighting recent initiatives, Singh pointed to the India-EU Security & Defence Partnership as pivotal in boosting joint capabilities and reinforcing Indo-German strategic alignment. Both leaders committed to leveraging this framework for regional stability. Singh also looked forward to the German Air Force's participation in Exercise Tarang Shakti in India.
