The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated Rs 250 crore to clear overdue payments to private hospitals participating in the Dr NTR Vaidya Seva health scheme. The move followed a meeting between State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav and Finance Minister P Keshav, aimed at streamlining the funds' release.
Health Department Secretary Saurabh Gaur announced that another Rs 250 crore would be released soon. However, he urged hospitals within the Andhra Pradesh Speciality Hospitals Association to maintain their services despite ongoing financial negotiations.
Nevertheless, the association dismissed the government's proposal, arguing that accepting partial payments would destabilize their finances. Association president K Vijay Kumar encouraged members to stand firm and resist succumbing to reduced payments.
