Cyclone Montha Threatens Andhra Pradesh with Heavy Rain and Strong Winds

Cyclone Montha, a severe cyclonic storm, is intensifying as it nears the Andhra Pradesh coast, according to the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority. The cyclone has already brought heavy rains and strong winds to coastal districts, causing significant disruptions.

NTR district officials, along with other administrative bodies, have mobilized resources and set up rehabilitation centers. The police force and emergency teams are in place to ensure residents' safety, with drones deployed for real-time monitoring.

In districts like Chittoor and Kakinada, heavy rainfall and rising waters have cut off roads, prompted evacuations, and worsened coastal erosion. Authorities warn of increased wind and rain severity as the cyclone approaches land, with a likely landfall near Kakinada on October 28.
