Precautionary Measures as Cyclone 'Montha' Approaches: 787 Pregnant Women Shifted in Andhra Pradesh

As cyclone 'Montha' looms, Andhra Pradesh's health authorities have taken decisive steps to safeguard pregnant women nearing delivery. Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav confirmed that 787 expectant mothers have been relocated to hospitals to brace against the expected intensification of the cyclone.
The minister highlighted that efforts are concentrated in districts like Krishna, Eluru, Konaseema, and East Godavari, with special attention given to high-risk cases. Over 17 districts are under alert, with medical camps operational and providing round-the-clock care for those in need.
With the establishment of 551 shelters equipped with medical personnel, including officers from Primary Health Centres and Community Health Officers, the state is gearing up to minimize any adverse effects caused by this formidable natural event.
