A developing weather system, Cyclone 'Montha', is set to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm, prompting substantial safety measures across Andhra Pradesh. Prakhar Jain, Managing Director of APSDMA, confirmed this on Monday.
Amidst rain and strong winds, coastal districts are bracing for potential impacts. 'Cyclone has begun. Districts along the coast are experiencing significant rainfall and gales,' said Jain, underscoring the storm's progression towards landfall.
Tracked at 560 km from Visakhapatnam, the cyclone is predicted to strengthen on Tuesday morning, with a forecasted path crossing near Kakinada by the evening or night of October 28. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and adhere to official advisories.
