The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the release of Rs 250 crore aimed at settling dues with private hospitals participating in the Dr NTR Vaidya Seva health scheme. This move comes in the wake of discussions between State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav and Finance Minister P Keshav to expedite the fund clearance process.
Health Department Secretary Saurabh Gaur confirmed the initiative, adding that an additional Rs 250 crore is set to be released soon. He urged the Andhra Pradesh Speciality Hospitals Association and other related groups to continue their health service provisions under the scheme despite financial concerns.
However, the association, represented by President K Vijay Kumar, has rejected the government's financial offer. Kumar emphasized that accepting these partial payments could undermine the financial stability and future operations of participating hospitals, and he called for unity among association members to withstand external pressures and false promises.
