VHP Launches 'Hindu Safety Helpline' Amid Rising Violence Concerns

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) inaugurated a 'Hindu safety helpline' in Delhi in response to increasing incidents of violence and harassment faced by the Hindu community. This new service aims to provide immediate aid, guidance, and support while explicitly excluding assistance to Muslims and Christians.

During a press conference, Delhi unit secretary Surendra Gupta explained that the helpline was essential following numerous recent violent episodes, with a noted increase since Holi in March. The helpline is designed to offer real-time assistance, coordinated by workers from Durga Vahini and Bajrang Dal, while adhering to legal frameworks.

The VHP clarified that the helpline seeks to address a variety of issues, including physical threats and workplace discrimination, ensuring confidentiality for complainants. The organization plans to expand this initiative with a mobile application for rapid volunteer response.
