In a significant breakthrough, Punjab Police's State Special Operation Cell in Amritsar has succeeded in busting a cross-border smuggling network. The operation led to the arrest of four individuals—Jugraj Singh, Kulbir Singh, Arshdeep Singh, and Nachattar Singh—all hailing from District TarnTaran, said the Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab on Wednesday.

According to the DGP, initial investigations suggest that the accused were directed by a Pakistan-based smuggler orchestrating the illegal movement of weapons into Punjab. An FIR has been registered at Police Station SSOC, Amritsar, and further investigations are ongoing to uncover additional links.

Meanwhile, the Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted another cross-border smuggling attempt by recovering a drone carrying a weapon near Amritsar. Coordination between BSF and Punjab Police also led to the seizure of a heroin packet in Ferozepur. These actions underscore the continued alertness and commitment to securing the nation's borders.
