The Punjab Police has successfully disrupted a potential terror attack, apprehending two suspects and confiscating a rocket-propelled grenade in Amritsar. The launcher was reportedly meant for a targeted attack, adding tension to regional security concerns.

In an operation driven by intelligence insights, Amritsar Rural Police, in collaboration with central agencies, captured two operatives, Mehakdeep Singh and Aditya, both from Amritsar. They were allegedly in contact with Pakistan's ISI, which had arranged the weapon's delivery via drone, as revealed by Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav.

Authorities are delving into the network's broader reach, seeking to map connections. A case under the Explosives Substances Act and terrorist activity under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been filed, with further interrogation of jailed accomplice Harpreet Singh set to follow.
