Celebrating Utkal Dibasa: Odisha's 90th Foundation Day

Odisha marked its 90th foundation day on Wednesday, drawing national attention as leaders across India celebrated Utkal Dibasa. The day commemorates Odisha's historic formation as the country's first state established on a linguistic basis in 1936.

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among those who extended warm greetings. Modi praised the state's cultural and spiritual contributions, expressing hope for continuous progress. Radhakrishnan highlighted the indomitable spirit of the Odia people, wishing for prosperity and development.

The significance of Odisha in India's cultural tapestry was echoed by several leaders, including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Majhi reiterated the government's commitment to safeguarding Odia identity and culture, while Patnaik emphasized the emotional significance of 'Odisha Day' as a symbol of pride and progress.
