Ghoomar Festival: Rajasthan Revives Traditional Dance with Statewide Celebration

The Rajasthan government is set to illuminate its cultural tapestry by organizing the Ghoomar Festival across all seven divisional headquarters on November 19, infusing new life into the state's traditional dance heritage.
This initiative, directed by Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari, aims to celebrate and promote Rajasthan's royal cultural legacy. According to Tourism Department Commissioner Rukmani Riar, the festival will unfold simultaneously in Ajmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, and Udaipur.
Open to women over 12, the festival encourages participation from diverse groups including students, homemakers, and NGOs. It offers awards for group dances, costumes, jewelry, and choreography, with winning groups earning the spotlight at major state tourism events.
