Air India Express has announced an ambitious network optimization plan aimed at enhancing connectivity and operational efficiency. Since the launch of this initiative last month, the airline has expanded its network by over 25%, adding 48 domestic and 10 international routes. This move intends to strengthen hub operations and increase frequency density across key markets.
The airline is now conducting over 2,700 weekly flights across 114 domestic routes and 780 short-haul international flights across 70 routes. Notably, cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru are playing pivotal roles, accounting for approximately 74% of domestic departures by this month, a significant rise from April figures.
Further, Air India Express is broadening its international network from Bengaluru with new destinations including Bangkok and Jeddah. In response to market demands, they have revitalized the in-flight menu with 'Gourmair' hot meals and the new 'Moments by AIX' Celebration cakes, available for pre-booking to enhance onboard celebrations.
