Brahmapur Railway Station's Rs 300 Crore Transformation: A New Era of Connectivity

Elevating accessibility with inclusive infrastructure, the station will also install modern systems for seamless passenger experience.

Brahmapur railway station in southern Odisha will undergo a significant redevelopment, officials announced on Thursday. The Rs 300 crore project aims to enhance capacity with three additional railway lines and four new platforms, accommodating the increasing flow of 25,000 daily passengers and over 162 trains.
The project will see the construction of a new station building on the second entry side, alongside substantial yard modifications. As part of the upgrade, existing services and railway quarters will be relocated to pave the way for a layout focused on passenger needs, enabling seamless connectivity across the station.
In a move to ensure inclusivity, the redevelopment includes the extension of an existing Foot over Bridge, Divyang-friendly infrastructure, tactile pathways, and level access facilities. Additionally, the station will install a Quick Watering System, CCTV surveillance, and integrated electrical and signalling upgrades.
