The Odisha government, under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved a city gas distribution policy, aiming to bolster PNG and CNG infrastructure across the state. This move aligns with national efforts to promote clean and sustainable energy, said Chief Secretary Anu Garg.

The policy aims to tackle existing challenges such as multi-agency approvals, while ensuring faster project implementation through streamlined processes. It is expected to attract private investment, create employment opportunities, and enhance business ease, without imposing financial burdens on the state, added Garg.

Beyond energy, the Cabinet also approved the Odisha State Data Policy 2.0. This policy aspires to develop a comprehensive data governance framework, enhancing governance efficiency and data reliability in public schemes. Additionally, the construction of a bridge connecting Cuttack city and Bhubaneswar was sanctioned, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion on NH-16.
