Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi drew sharp parallels between opposition parties and the Kauravas of the epic Mahabharata, during a spirited address at the BJP's 'Jan Akrosh Women's Rally'. Equating the opposition's stance on the women's reservation bill to the Kauravas' disrespect of women, he predicted their political demise at the hands of an enraged female electorate.
Majhi criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for derogatory comments and insisted that women have unwavering belief in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dedication to their empowerment. He highlighted 'Operation Sindoor' as a testament to the government's commitment against those who challenge women's honor.
The Chief Minister urged women to maintain their dissent and vocalize their disapproval, stating that the opposition's stance on the bill amounted to a betrayal of women's constitutional rights. State BJP leaders echoed his sentiments, predicting the eventual passage of the bill driven by nationwide protests.
