Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, but the encounter must aim to finalize agreements on the ongoing conflict, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

The remarks came after Ukraine requested Turkey to facilitate a high-level meeting to reignite stalled peace negotiations. However, Moscow emphasized that any meeting should have clear objectives and thorough preparation, which require political will from Kyiv, a factor it currently finds lacking.

Peskov reiterated Russia's goal in its military initiatives, described as a 'special military operation,' is to protect Russia's vital interests against threats from the Kyiv region. Russia remains open to continued negotiation efforts, even suggesting readiness for discussions involving U.S. representatives.
