India's First Emergency Landing Facility Hosts Spectacular Aerial Show

In a landmark move to enhance military responsiveness, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India's first Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) in Assam's Dibrugarh district. This significant infrastructure, specially designed for emergency situations, marked its debut with a mesmerizing aerial show.

The Indian Air Force (IAF), with its impressive fleet of Sukhoi-30 and Rafale jets along with transport helicopters, conducted an aerial display that captivated all attendees. This facility, located on the Moran Bypass, is a strategic asset for the northeast region, facilitating both military and civil aircraft operations during emergencies.

Designed and constructed at a project cost of nearly Rs 100 crore, the 4.2 km ELF promises to bolster the IAF's capabilities. The event, which drew curious onlookers eager to catch a glimpse of the action, included Special Heli-Borne Operations and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) simulations, showcasing the ELF's versatility and critical role in disaster response.
