Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a historic arrival on Saturday by landing the C-130J aircraft at the northeast's first Emergency Landing Facility in Dibrugarh, Assam. This strategic multi-functional runway aims to bolster defence logistics and disaster response, catering to both civil and military needs.

The Rs 100-crore project, a 4.2-km reinforced stretch on the Moran Bypass, was inaugurated by the PM and serves as an alternative to the Dibrugarh airport. Modi was received by Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and other dignitaries, highlighting the significance of this development.

The Prime Minister witnessed an aerial display of IAF aircraft, engaging with the local community and receiving traditional Assamese honors. Chief Minister Sarma lauded Modi's visit as a milestone for Assam's progress, reiterating its importance in the region's strategic growth.
