Goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann, son of former German striker Jürgen Klinsmann, is on the road to recovery after sustaining a broken neck in a recent match for Italian club Cesena. The injury occurred during a clash with a Palermo player, necessitating his immediate removal from the field in a neck brace.

The club reported that initial tests showed a fracture of the first cervical vertebra along with a cut to the head. Klinsmann, 29, will undergo further evaluation by a neurosurgeon. Meanwhile, he has announced on Instagram that this injury has cut his season short, expressing gratitude to Cesena and Palermo fans and the support from friends and family.

Previously associated with the Los Angeles Galaxy and having represented the US at youth levels, Klinsmann joined Cesena two years ago. He has made over 50 appearances for the Serie B team, which is coached by former English footballer Ashley Cole.
