Cameron Green showcased a stellar performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 as his maiden half-century led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a commendable 180 runs against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Friday. Playing in Ahmedabad, Green managed an impressive 79 off 55 balls, marking this as his second-highest IPL score following his unbeaten 100 for Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede in 2023.

The opening partnership for KKR, Tim Seifert and Ajinkya Rahane, faced an early setback. Mohammed Siraj struck in the first over, dismissing the KKR skipper, Rahane, for a golden duck, ushering young Angkrish Raghuvanshi to the crease. Despite starting aggressively with two boundaries, Raghuvanshi was soon taken down by celebrated seamer Kagiso Rabada for eight runs, paving the way for Green to join Seifert at the crease.

Seifert contributed a brisk 19 before Rabada captured his wicket in his follow-up over, making room for Rovman Powell. GT bowlers, led by an effective strategy, contained KKR to a modest 37/3 by the end of the power-play. Powell, however, retaliated in the seventh over with a massive hit off Prasidh Krishna, marking the beginning of KKR's recovery efforts. Subsequently, Green powered through, reaching his maiden half-century for the season, and cemented KKR's position despite losing partners regularly.
